Update 5.01.10
A number of people have contacted me about this post. Several (I suspect) quite senior people in a number of agencies wrote to clarify their position, which I appreciate. Others suggested I simply email the PRs in question to ask to have my name removed from their lists; as I explained in the post, this is what I spent last year doing, usually to no avail.
This post wasn’t intended to be a disquisition on how hack and flacks do or don't work together, wind each other up or anything else, but rather the way that my job was made difficult by some people throughout the last year. However it does seem to have sparked a debate which I’m sure would be better off being discussed elsewhere.
For now though, the point has been made, the list has been deleted and comments are closed.
Happy new year.
